The Luxor is an excellent hotel, brilliantly run considering the number of guests constantly coming and going. The buffet has a very good selection of food at a reasonable price, and the casino is less tacky than most. We had a room in the Tower. It was large, very well equipped and comfortable, except in one respect - the enormous beds were HARD. Maybe all Vegas beds are the same to get you out of bed and into the casinos?

This was our second visit to the Luxor. First visit, the housekeepers managed to take my nightgown away with the sheets (I never got it back, said they lost it)! But was compensated with $200 and free tickets to the Blue Man Group for 4 !! It's the MOST AMAZING show we have ever been to and we were eager to go again this time. You cant miss it, pure entertainment for all and well worth the $95 a ticket. Visit the Manhatten restaurant just outside the Strip for a truly romantic night. Its an old converted bank with intimate booths. It could be the mafia who run it, all Italians with pinkie rings, Versace suits and the atmousphere is electric ! Mid range price for Italian food but GOOOOOD.All you ladies out there that like to make the best of yourself, visit Showgirl Wigs - a taxi ride just off the Strip, you will come out looking like a new woman (tee-hee) !Hope some of these hints are helpful. We are fussy travellers and only like the best, so you wont be disappointed.Have FUN !

Stayed in the West tower for 5 nights from May 2-7th, 2004, and overall was well pleased. The room was large with a nice pool and mounain view. The bathroom was good size with a large soaking tub and separate stall shower; quite nice. Bed was very comfortable, but we thought that although the room was very tastefully and beautifully decorated, it was sparsely furnished. We asked for an extra table, as we didn't have enough surface areas, but were told that no tables were available, so we left the ironing board out and open, and used it as an extra table. The room was large enough to easily have accomodated more furniture. We reported one of the chairs to be broken, and it was replaced the next morning. Other minor complaints such as no waste baskets in room, air conditioner filter clogged up, etc, were all addressed promptly. The luggage and maid service was fine. The only drawbacks were that it was a long walk from the west tower to the casino, and also that the layout of the casino is quite confusing; we never quite knew where we were. The buffet was superior both times that we ate there. The walk from the parking garage back to the hotel was quite long, so we used the valet service which was excellent. All in all we thought that it was good value for the money ($99 per night on their internet site), and if you report any shortcomings in the room upon arrival, as we did, you'll find the accomodations well worth the price. We would return again.

We stayed 4 days, three nights in the pyrimid at the Luxor April 26-29. Were able to check in at 1:30PM, all staff was very helpful and room was very nice. Not as large as the "wings" but much more convenient. We used the tram extensively to go between the 5 hotels in that area and it was great. Saw LeFemme and Zumanity, both of which were superior. Zumanity is very adult. Rita Rudner was just so-so. Hotel pool was good and service superior. Very nice stay at a reasonable price.

We stayed at the Luxor 13th-15th April 2004. We had booked through a package, so did not have a choice of rooms, and when checking in we were told the hotel was full and no upgrades were available. We had a pyramid room, which was nice with 2 double beds and plenty of space. There was no bath, just a large shower, but the bathroom was large. The room was clean, but we found it was very dark, even with all the lights on. The common areas weren't so clean, and there were used glasses sitting outside the elevators for several days of our stay. The only downside is that it is near the bottom of the strip; I think we would have preferred to be further up.
