“Good value, but dated decor and noisy”

I was on the $59 per night special rate, so this was a good value for a property located on the Strip. The negatives were that the room air conditioning didn't work very well and the decor of the hotel is quite dated (i.e. late 1980s). Be aware that the hotel is under remodel near the "towers" and the lobby, so there is construction noise between 9 am and 5 pm. The noise is loud enough to disturb mid-day napping, and if you're playing the slot machines or dining in the coffee shop it's annoying. Finally, I found it irritating that the Luxor allows people to hound you for timeshares in the lobby near the front door, under the guise of "Hello, can I help you with anything?" The only "help" they want to give you is to steer you to a timeshare!

We stayed here for 3 nights in early August. Whilst the room (Pyramid) was okay, the building site outside was not helpful. It was noisy, smelly and dusty and we were on the 15th floor. I apreciate that changes and updates need to be made, but it would have been nice had we been informed beforehand.

The check in queue was longer than anything I have seen at Disneyland and the walk from the car park is ridiculous.

The pool is very good, with plenty of loungers even for a hotel of this size.

The inclinators were extremely tempremental with one not working for most of our stay.

Whilst it is an okay hotel, there are others at a similar cost, including the Startosphere which is cheaper.

The Luxor was nice enough to offer us a free Tower room after our January trip, so we returned in August. The west tower room was much nicer than the pyramid room. The large bathroom with separate tub and shower was great. The king size mattress was a bit sub-par but we slept well. The pyramid cafe was so-so, overpriced - try Ellis Island instead! Drink service while playing was prompt.

“Had a good time with a few exceptions”

Stayed at the Luxor Aug 3-7th with some friends. We arrived after 11:00 pm and were told that since there were no rooms in the pyramid we were being upgraded to the tower rooms. The room was ok until the next morning when we were awoken around 7:00 am (after no sleep with the late arrival and time change) to the sound of hammering in the room above us. Needless to say we got up and started our day. We did get our room switched to an 8th floor pyramid room and were supposedly comped for our 1st night. I am not sure we were really comped because I already paid for that night. The pyramid room seemed a lot bigger and we had a king instead of 2 doubles. Which is much better considering my husband is 6ft tall. I enjoyed this room much better then the "upgrade" tower room that was 2 miles from everything. When you have t o pass 2 starbucks to get to a room it's too far!
Loved the pool at the luxor. Never had a problem getting a chair or a drink. Beer is expensive so be prepared to pay $7 a bottle. Didn't stop our group. The only weird thing was there was a 8 year old European girl running around with bikini bottoms and no top- kind of creepy!
Ate at the pyramid cafe which was really good and we had a $25 voucher which was nice. Other then that we only ate at the food court late at night. I highly recommend going to the Burger Bar in Mandalay Place-it was excellence. We were bummed to find out that the Monte Carlo Brewery no longer serves it's own micro- beer, that was disappointing. Over all it was a fun trip. I would recommend the Luxor, the downside is it's far down the strip so wear your walking shoes!

“Luxor..an absolute must!”

Luxor Las Vegas

It seems that most complainants here are either American or German, so I presume that these peoples are a tad fussier than us humble Brits..anyway..The Luxor..a fantastic place that everybody should visit at least once in their life. We stayed in the Pyramid (as opposed to the Tower) on the 21st. floor. Great views, spacious room and bathroom, two huge beds and a TV (but who needs TV..you can watch the thing back home..you’re in Vegas now!). No fridge, but there was a handy cold drinks machine just up the hallway. The Casino waitresses are the fastest on the Strip (unlike the slow service at the MGM where it’s almost impossible to get a drink) and even make you coffee if you are making a minor investment in the small hours. The Luxor’s restaurants are fantastic value..$12.99 for a buffet breakfast and $20 for the evening version. You start by attacking prawn mountain (never seen so many prawns in one place) and then proceed to eat your way around the world. If you’ve the appetite of an elephant there are also calorie busting desserts. The steak-house served up huge portions..the onion soup starter had at least half a pound of cheese in it..outrageous! Luxor has a handy monorail connection to Excalibur and Mandalay but these rail-links are often further away than if you walk direct, so use them if you come across them. Will we go again? You bet!
