Just returned from 3 nights at the Luxor (Sept 18-21). The Luxor was definitely "above average" and we were thrilled to have a room in the West Tower as was recommended on this site. It is a much nicer part of the hotel complex - lovely room, fabulous shower and nice location closer to pool and spa. In fact, it was better than we expected. We visited the pyramid area and I don't think I would have been happy in that area - it needs major updating and the angled elevator was quite annoying. The staff were very helpful throught the casino and hotel. Our last night there was "a party" going on in the room next door at 4 am and we called security. 4 guards showed up in 2 mins. Also, as someone wrote, it is a shame that there is no shade at the pool - we only lasted for one hour. Our only real disappointment was the daytime food - I don't know about the nicer restaurants open in the evening, but the buffet and cafe were definitely "below average". We went next door to Mandalay Bay for breakfast in their cafe and it was fantastic. If I came again and could afford it, I would stay at Mandalay Bay, Venetian or Caesar's (Bellagio had amazing restaurants, but felt more like a Ritz). However, the Luxor in the West Towers couldn't be beat.

The hotel, like every big hotel in Las Vegas, is a maze. After 4 days I still got lost when trying to reach the swimming pool (in swimsuit walking in the casino...) and it took me 10 minutes to reach a valid elevator. Only 2 "inclinators" out of 4 pyramid corners reach your floor, so it is not easy and you have to walk a lot. Moreover, I had the room in the no elevator corner and had to walk a lot (50 room doors) to reach the nearest inclinator. So, loor for the TOWERS! The rest of the hotel features were ok, apart from the maid which arrived always after 2pm (we left the room after 9am, leaving it free with indication of service request for 5 hours) forcing us to go out!

It's all about the room...we were located near a dance club, so all we could hear all night was loud music and an annoying bass. We were on one of the lower floors. So I recommend asking for a room higher up to get away from all of the noise. The pool was so crowded and you have to walk through the crowded casino to get there. Overall it was too loud and crowded for us, we will not return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the east tower from 8/25 thru 8/29/03. Room was always spotless. Check-in was rather annoying---moved very slowly. It's quite a long walk to the parking garage...a moving sidewalk would be a great addition especially for older folks. Prices for bottled soda, beer and water are a little steep. Go to the little market down the street for your beverages at a reasonable price. As for the bottled water provided in the room for $4 a bottle, no way! We would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I just got back from Vegas, we had a wonderful time staying at the Luxor. Everything was very nice we stayed in the Towers which were very clean and the decor was beautiful. The only negative was trying to get a drink while we were gambling the waitress seem to ignor us. The Pyramid Cafe was wonderful the people went out of their way to see that we had everything. I would go back there anytime!
