Stayed at the Luxor from 25-29 Aug 03.Good parking facilities if using your car to get there.Checking in was abit of a chore, long ques but they moved quickly. Upgraded to a jacuzi room for an extra $50/night. Thought it was going to be the same size as a normal room, but what a surprise when you walk in.Its much bigger, with a jacuzi of course, but also a separte lounge to the side with another TV and a refridgerator to keep your (cheap drinks at the supermarket-just up the strip) cool. Also a sofa and armchair with coffee table to relax away from the bed area! Well worth the upgrade. But when they say view of strip its a view of Las Vegas Blvd and Airport as you cant see through the East and West towers to the side. Pool area was large, with little shade, but we wanted to tan so not a problem. The heat is dryer, so much more comfortable to sit out in it for long periods, unlike somewhere like Dubai were you would sweat if you blinked an eyelid. Buffet was avarage, bit of a wait to be seated, but line moved quickly. Oasis spa was good and gym, but a $20 fee for entry. We got a summer deal where you get 2 free entries into it. As a whole for the cheap price we paid/night ($79),it was great value. Some people complain about the location at the bottom of the strip, and it is a pain if you intend to walk everywhere. We simply walked out of Hotel, got a cab straight away nearly everytime, and got him to drop us off at a Hotel further up, so we could explore more from there. Inexpensive and easy, no problem. Howerver, i visted nearly every hotel in Las Vegas, and not to put put people off the Luxor, which was great, i thought the MIRAGE would be the one to stay at next time i visit. It costs a bit more, but then again you are in VEGAS.........

Tip the bellman on the way in to get you there,(check in). Ask for a tower room-much nicer. Great food, huge pool, the room service is on time and they didn't drop the ball on the wake up call for the early flight. Dealers are personable and will answer any ?? you might have. I won. Be sure and eat at the Luxor steakhouse, absoultely terrific!
Drinks are a little watered down but ask and they will bring you a good drink especially when you are tossing the coin. Go, it's worth every penny.

I am a travel agent and have sent many people to the Luxor and have never had a complaint, some customers have gone back to stay there again. Before I went I had read the reviews on this site and decided I would like a Tower room. When we checked in I wasn't well and advised checkin staff I just wanted the closest room to checkin that they had available. The room they gave us was a Tower room a few minutes away. The room was large, the bathroom had a large shower and bath. I can honestly say that I would recommend this to my customers and I would also stay there again. We ate in the cafe which was good and also had a buffet, the buffet was not the best I have been to, except for the salad section which was absolutely fantastic.

My husband took a long over due honeymoon at the Luxor 08/07-08/09/03 and it was fantastic! Upon arrival we were offered a $50.00 upgrade to a corner suite, the room was incredible. The view breathtaking, inside and outside of the hotel. We travel alot so we do have experience to compare it. The inside of the pyramid was so beautiful. We are not big gamblers so we tried it a little and lost what we budgeted for. But a guy sitting next to me on the slots won a car, Yeah for him. Room service was well priced and excellent. The only bad experience was we paid $28 to see the Matrix Reloaded on their IMAX screen. The movie was awful, and wasn't shot to be on an IMAX screen and they have a bar come down over you so you cannot leave, we both hated this and it hurt more to loose and waste that $28 than the $300 we gambled away. But a bad movie isn't Luxor's fault. A piece of advice, don't be afraid to buy souveniers when you are there because trust me when you get home and you didn't buy what you wanted you will regret it.

I just returned from my Aug. 12-15 stay at the Luxor, and I would say that it was overall a good experience. Checking in was a little screwy--especially since we were given keys to an already occupied room (can you imagine walking in to someone else's empty room--MAJOR security problem!). The staff did not apologize for their error, and in fact seemed rather indifferent about the incident. Maybe this is more indicative in general of the poor, jaded service we received throughout Las Vegas, and not just at the Luxor. Despite this incident, the Luxor is a nice hotel; not exactly luxurious but of good quality--our west tower room was very nice for what we paid. Next time, however, I would rather stay somewhere more centrally located. We took too many cabs to the same area and realized it might have been better to stay around Paris, Caesar's, and the Bellagio.
