Stayed at the Luxor from 25-29 Aug 03.Good parking facilities if using your car to get there.Checking in was abit of a chore, long ques but they moved quickly. Upgraded to a jacuzi room for an extra $50/night. Thought it was going to be the same size as a normal room, but what a surprise when you walk in.Its much bigger, with a jacuzi of course, but also a separte lounge to the side with another TV and a refridgerator to keep your (cheap drinks at the supermarket-just up the strip) cool. Also a sofa and armchair with coffee table to relax away from the bed area! Well worth the upgrade. But when they say view of strip its a view of Las Vegas Blvd and Airport as you cant see through the East and West towers to the side. Pool area was large, with little shade, but we wanted to tan so not a problem. The heat is dryer, so much more comfortable to sit out in it for long periods, unlike somewhere like Dubai were you would sweat if you blinked an eyelid. Buffet was avarage, bit of a wait to be seated, but line moved quickly. Oasis spa was good and gym, but a $20 fee for entry. We got a summer deal where you get 2 free entries into it. As a whole for the cheap price we paid/night ($79),it was great value. Some people complain about the location at the bottom of the strip, and it is a pain if you intend to walk everywhere. We simply walked out of Hotel, got a cab straight away nearly everytime, and got him to drop us off at a Hotel further up, so we could explore more from there. Inexpensive and easy, no problem. Howerver, i visted nearly every hotel in Las Vegas, and not to put put people off the Luxor, which was great, i thought the MIRAGE would be the one to stay at next time i visit. It costs a bit more, but then again you are in VEGAS.........
