The staff at Sin City Hostel are fantastic. Excellent service, friendly and really know how to have a good time. They were very informative and able to help at any time. Service with a smile.
We had a private shared room. The room itself was nice, but the walls were paper thin, and we heard the 6 other people in the dorm attached come in and out, and use the bathroom, as I am sure they heard us come and go, as we had to go through the dorm to exit the room.
The communal areas (kitchen/dining room) were fantastic, complete with a pool table.
The location was excellent. In the middle of both the casino areas of Vegas. Everywhere was a 5 minute bus ride, and the shopping centres were close bus ride too, max 20 minutes.
It was pricey mid week, but for the weekend, it was pretty good value. Mid week, a few of the hotels have some really good specials/rates on rooms.

when I arrived the staff were so friendly and informative, since i'm on a budget it was good to be told all the free things in vegas. The staff also than took me out from drinks with them and created a really social atmosphere, which i think is important for hostels, espically as a solo traveller. This is the best hostel i have been on my trip so far.

even if you're on a budget this hostel is really badly managed. I asked to stay in a room with girls and they put me in a mixed one. The same happened the following day, after I explained the issue at the reception. Beds are so uncomfortable and they still have the plastic on the mattress. Let's not speak about the cheap, grating bedsheets and the "electric" blankets. do yourself a favor and choose another hostel for your stay...

p.s. Las Vegas might be worth going for a day to see the Bellagio hotel, and a Circe du Soleil show, but a part from this...don't waste your time, and money there, it's rather ugly/depressing..

Worst Hostel from our whole trip!!!
We were two females traveling around California and Vegas in Oct '08. Three weeks before we arrived here we called and asked to change our dates, which we were advised was fine, as we were only going to end up staying one night and book into a hotel the other two nights. When we arrived we were met by a woman who seemed so bored like she didnt even want to be there, and was totally rude and unhelpful. We were told that we would have to pay for all three nights, even though we were only there for one, and she wasnt budging. As we arrived on a Sat night, there was no where else to stay and we didnt have the money for a hotel. She then took us to our room, where we found out that the room attached (occupied by guys) could only be entered via them coming into our room! great so no privacy there -- they could come in whenever, not very safe! The beds where disgusting! Sheets were dirty and stained and there were actual bugs crawling on them! I would advise you not to stay!
BAD HOSTEL!BAD LOCATION!VERY RUDE UNHELPFULL STAFF!!...pay a little extra and stay in a hotel!
