This was a terrible terribe hostel and I would not reccommend it to anyone.

For a start they say they are the only hostel on 'The Strip', but to call themselves on the Strip is a giant stretch of the imagination. Yes they are located on Las Vegas Blvd as is the strip but they are at the wrong end of Las Vegas Blvd surrounded by wedding chappels and bail bonds offices. It is a 30min bus ride up to the real strip.

Next they charge for internet and they don't have WiFi although they say they do. They charge you $1 for 10 mins on the net but their service is soooooooo slllooowwww that it takes 10 mins just to load one page. I was on for about 45 mins got charged for 60 mins and got nothing accomplished and had to go and spend lots more money in an internet cafe to get what I needed to do done.

The room I was in was advertised as a 6 bed dorm and some other girls checked in when I did and checked straight back out as they hated the place. They didn't get their money back. I moved from the bed I was in to one of the beds one of the girls was in as it was a bit more comfortable. The next day I was told I couldn't stay there as it was in the 'private room'. So really it wasn't a six bed dorm but a 4 bed dorm with a private room attached.

Also when I got up after my first night I went to use the toilet and it is blocked. I go to the desk and let them know and was told to use a toilet in the common room which was blocked also. When I told them I was told it was the cities fault????????

Next I go to have a shower and there is no hot water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Later that day when I get back to the hostel and need to have a shower before going out I find that the towel I left hanging on a hook in my dorm is missing. When I ask at the front desk it turns out that it was taken by a staff member and is being used for cleaning.

That night I get home from being out at about 3 in the morning to find that my PJ's are missing also. Also taken from a hook in the dorm room. When I asked for them the next day they were found in the staff quarters.

This was particularly upsetting because for the whole time I had been staying there there was a dirty grotty towel and a filthy singlet left lying around in the dorm room. Was that moved or touched - no. Was my pirfectly clean and very nice things taken away - yes.

When I complained about this - NOTHING was done and it was made out that it was my fault.

There are other hostels in Las Vegas that are much better - DO NOT STAY AT SIN CITY HOSTEL

I stayed here summer 07 on my own. Had nowhere booked so was a little worried that I'd be wandering the streets of Vegas. I found a hostel on the first night which was horrible, in a proper dodgy area and felt like I'd walked into a 18-30s holiday and the guy on the front desk was obviously peeved because I'd interupted him chatting up some girl so was really rude. Needless to say the next day I was straight out of there. Found Sin City Hostel and they got me a room straight off. The staff were so helpful. Told you all you needed to know about Vegas and always helped out. I kept extending my stay and they always managed to book me in for an extra night. On my last night I was supposed to leave but change of plans meant that at 1am I had nowhere to stay. They were brilliant and let me stay in the tv room for a knockdown price. They had free food and drink a couple of the nights I was there which was ideal as I was completely broke and had decided not eating was the only way I would have enough money to get back to San Francisco where I had a flight booked to New York. Everyone's really friendly here, nice communal areas where I met loadsa of people and on the nights when I couldnt afford to do anything I was happy just to hang out at the hostel with the staff and other people I'd met.
The only bad point is that its a bit of a trek to the strip but with the Deuce bus stop right outside the hostel even this wasn't a real problem. The area is a bit dodgy, I got asked to give a bj to some guy in his car when I was waiting at the bus stop at 9am with my massive backpack waiting to get bus to san fran! Bad times. But to be honest, its like this everywhere in Vegas. Its a dodgy place and it could be a bit intimidating if you needed to walk to the shop or something but I rarely went on my own anyway and, again, with the bus stop right outside the hostel you really didn't need to walk very far on your own.
Overall a top experience. The worst parts are to do with the city, not the hostel but hey, thats Vegas baby!!!

My friend and I arrived and crashed right after checking in, and within a couple of hours met some really cool people from all over the world. That night we went on the "Champagne Limo-sin" tour as they called it- and this was a great way to meet people in the hostel. Kelvin, the manager and his staff were always welcoming, protective and helpful when situations arrose. It is Vegas, and some people do crazy things, but the management went out of their way to make sure that everyone was safe and had a great time.

The Hostel is a little ways away from the strip, but also close to plenty of interesting gems. More importantly, it's within staggering distance of the bus stop- and the 24 hour bus to the strip will be your best friend.

I will definately stay here again, and would recommend this hostel to any young traveler looking to meet other young travelers in the "city of sin" and to have a great time. No questions asked. It's Vegas baby. I wish I could have stayed longer.

I had a really good time at Sin City. The first night i was therethey put on a free BBQ and then had a limo tour of the Strip which ended in a nightclub. It was a great way to meet people staying at the hostel and there are a couple from that hostel who i ended up travelling to other parts of the US with!
The staff were helpful with things we could do during the day.
Basically i think Vegas is such a crazy city it didn't really worry me what i was sleeping on, the earliest i got to bed was 6am.
All up it was one of the most social hostels i've stayed at and i met some great people who i still keep in touch with!
The biggest downside is that it is a little bit of a trek from the strip and the Deuce bus is possibly the most frustrating bus ride i've ever been on!

Stayed on a Friday and they had an amazing Limo tour the manager (Kelvin) is a party expert as well as the rest of the staff. He got us in a club for free and we didn't have to wait in line we walked right by. They also provide a good atmosphere and keep th place relatively clean. The previous reviews I read were B.S. compared to what I and others experienced. I will definitely go back if I visit Vegas again. Off to Fiji.
