Just returned last week (stayed Jan 10-12) and had a great stay at The Bellagio. Having never been to Vegas before, I decided to do it right! I went for two reasons: to see Celine Dion at Caesar's Palace and to stay at this hotel. Neither disappointed! The room's floor-to-ceiling window had electronically-controlled drapes and sheers and around 5pm each day there was a spectacular sunset behind the mountains. (Rm #10007) Not a "strip view" but of the pools and in the distance the natural beauty of the region. Had dinner at LeCirque. The price is $105/pp for an appetizer, entree, and dessert plus, of course, extra for drinks. There's also an add-on for certain entrees of about $9. The food was excellent and the view spectacular--of the Bellagio fountains. I would strongly advise making reservations at the hotel's fine dining restaurants, such as Picasso or LeCirque prior to departing for Las Vegas. The hotel is a city in itself with many different areas of shops, from a decorative "garden" store w/ fun accessories for the home to Hermes, Gucci, and Prada. The walk-way to Caesar's Palace is near Gucci in case you too stay here and see Celine at that hotel. A taxi from the airport is around $12, so no need to buy the shuttle service that many air/hotel packages sell for $10 PER PERSON. Be sure to walk through the conservatory at the hotel. It is decorated for Chinese New Year and surrounded by shops, restaurants, and the candy store with the huge fountain where chocolate flows.
