I'm not afraid of heights, but even I was terrified when I went on the rides on top of the Stratosphere Tower. The first one is similar to the Giant Drop at Six Flags Great America, except it's atop a 100 story building. We decided to go just after midnight during our trip and the view is amazing! The drop itself was a bit weak, but the thought of it falling off the side of the building was enough to scare me half to death. The second ride, XScream, is the scariest of them all. It's a roller coaster track that moves like a teeter totter off the side of the building. You tip forward and zoom forward as if plummeting to your death off the tower, tip backwards and do it again 3-4 times (I can't remember). We sat in the front car and there is NOTHING in front of you - not even handles to hold except on the lapbar. My 35 year-old sister was crying during the ride. I actually had to close my eyes - something I never do! The last ride, Insanity, is a swing type ride that moves on an arm so you dangling off the edge of the building over nothing but the ground 100 stories below. This ride actually looked unreal while I was on it as the backround looked like a greenscreen behind the people across from me. It was super cool! Not as scary as the others, but if you let it get into your head if you fell that you would be roadkill, I think it could really be frightening. I think we paid around $28 for all three rides. It was definately a one of a kind experience. If you like thrill rides, you HAVE to try these!
