We popped down to Fremont street during the day for a look round the shops and casinos (and some happy hour cocktails which were very nice indeed), so we thought we'd better go back to see the experience. We hadn't bothered to check when it started or anything so it was a bit of luck when we walked out of the Golden Nugget at 10pm (after checking out their cool fish tank/water slide combo).
The Queen show was pretty awesome and well worth the trip downtown. It probably doesn't seem as glamorous after the glitz of the strip but it's as good as the Mirage's plastic volcano!
The area is quite crowded and there seems to be a lot more drunken louts about than you'll find on the strip, but I'm glad we went to see it. Fremont street seems a little bit sad and run-down compared to the strip so it's good that this attraction encourages tourists to come here

This was my favorite thing we did in Vegas. The hourly shows overhead are really awesome - never seen anything like it. I like the feel of old Vegas and the tackiness of it all. We ate at the Golden Gate which was VERY good if you're in the area. We took the Deuce to and from the strip and it was completely packed so be prepared to wait in line to get back. Otherwise, everything was really neat and I'd love to go back.

The only thing I didn't like was the "Summer of 69" marketing for Fremont Street. I expected to feel more "real" or vintage, when it kind of came off as a forced tourist trap type of a thing. I think if they just kept it as music and visuals without a theme like that plastered everywhere, it would be more authentic.

I had heard about the Fremont Street Experience for a while now, but hadn't really found time to get there in past trips. I only go for 3 night trips and don't want to leave the Strip. However, as the most recent trip was my 12th, I figured I should see this attraction. I guess I can see how people would really like FSE - it's got the Old Vegas charm of places like 4 Queens and the Golden Nugget with some New Vegas life breathed into it, thanks to the overhead LED show and awesome sound system. But I didn't find the whole thing too interesting. Yeah, the LED screen show is pretty sweet, and it's nice that they have live music too, but the whole area feels kind of dingy. I was in and out of this place in 30 minutes. I wouldn't recommend FSE to people unless they'd already seen everything on the Strip or were really into the old glitz of Vegas. It gets a 3 rating just for the cool LED canopy show.

Many years ago I made my first visit to the Fremont Experience it was brilliant with superb effects and felt very real, but on my recent visit I was very dissappointed it had lost the realism that made it famous.
This place being in the oldest part of Vegas is far cheaper to shop and use resturants, this is about the only good part of it. Unfotunately like most places it has its fair share of drop outs and drunks, getting to and going around this place especially at night time requires extreme caution.
