We went down to Fremont St in the evening for an unforgettable night at the Fremont St experience. The light shows there start at 8.30 then go on the hour from 9pm. We saw the Queen (pop group) light show. It was spectacular and the technology involved is mind boggling. The street is very safe and lots of nifty shops to go and visit.

We went for a buffet at the Golden Nugget hotel buffet for $17 on fremont St. It was also very good. Then went back out for the 10pm light show.

You can easily catch the Deuce double decker bus from outside Paris or any of the stops on the strip and it stops right near Fremont St. The trip takes about 30-40 minutes and if you go upstairs you can get a good veiw of the strip.

The Fremont Street Experience and downtown Las Vegas are great fun. The light show is always good and they play great music as well. When the light show is not running they usually have live bands playing and all the ones we've seen are great. The whole downtown Las Vegas atmosphere is great and much more enjoyable than the Strip. If I had to sum it up in one word it would be FUN!

If you are into poker this is the place to play. The casinos here are smaller and not very grand. Low on the technology of the strip casinos but it is so relaxed and more fun. Mermaid Casino is a very cheap place to grab a "meal". We ate 99 cent hotdogs and free beer (we paid a $4 tip for 4 beers). The whole thing was a great expierence. I would stay down here next time. Light show is something you have to see.

Went to see the last show at 12 midnight. Stayed at Four Queens and thought we'd like to see what old vegas has to offer.Few people were there at the light show. It was just a big display of colorful animations with sound, that's it! Most of the stuff they showed were cartoons, not impressive. Now that I've known it, I most likely won't be back to see it again. I may bring a first-timer there just for them to experience it, coz I know some people like it. The whole downtown experience was a letdown for me. The hotels are old, run-down,a lot need to be imploded. I felt I wasn't on vacation there. If you are used to staying on the Strip, stay there, there's just no comparison.
