We were promised a King-size bed but were given a Queen-size bed. When this was reported to the front desk, the response was short. "This is all that we have. Would you like an additional bed?" I had to keep reminding myself that we were supposedly in a 5 star hotel.

The service was appalling. The security guard at the entrance to the elevators was extremely rude. During my three night stay, the same guy asked me for my room key three times. On two of those occasions, he ignored other well dressed White gentlemen to ask me. Those occasions embarrassed my wife and me a great deal. We were there on a holiday and to get some relaxation, not to be harrassed by some big bouncer-type guy.

Then, we had a poor in-suite dining experience. The waiter dropped a glass of water, broke it but assured us that everything was fine. He then left after which my wife and I found a number of glass pieces. The waiter never came back to clean the mess.

This hotel does not warrant a 4 star rating, let alone 5. I don't think I'll be booking into Trump International in the future. There were a number of other Hotels that we visited in Las Vegas that had better staff service. I guess all that glitters is not gold.

My wife and I stayed at the new Trump Las Vegas in late August. Overall the Hotel is very nice. The service is good, the lobby is beautiful and the rooms are excellent. Every room is large and comes equipped with a fully functioning kitchen. The bathrooms are great, they have huge showers and jacuzzi tubs. The beds are very very comfortable. The pool was descent size, with lots of chairs, but very boring and uneventful. The location of the Hotel is good. It is a little off the strip, by the Fashion Show Mall across from the Wynn Hotel. The Trump is great, but it has no energy. It would seem like a nice place to stay for a person in Vegas on business or an extended stay. The Trump just does not have any Vegas feel. Staying at the Trump has the same energy of staying at an airport hotel but with high class amenities. I would suggest staying at the Wynn or Venetian instead, the rooms are about the same but the those Hotels have a great Vegas vibe to them.
Overall, a great luxury experience but with no sense of enegy.

“Friendly, quite and comfortable hotel to stay in Vegas”

Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas

Aug 29, 2008

We stayed at the Trump International for two days at the end of 2 weeks road trip to visit some national parks in that area.
I have two reservations with the hotel, one for each night (we first thought that we will only stay here for one night). When I checked in at 2pm in the afternoon, the front-desk guy couldn't find my reservation for that night (he found the reservation for second night). Luckily, I have the reservation printed out, he called Hotels.com, and got it sort out. He was very friendly, and upgraded me to a suite with strip view on high floor for my patience.
The lobby is nicely decorated, and very quite compare to other hotels on strip; the room is very clean, and comfortable; the bathroom is amazing, I was impressed by the build-in flat TV on the mirror in bathroom even though I didn't use it much; the pool is good, but the pool at the Bellagio is way better.
The people there are very friendly, and service are very good at the hotel. We decided not to have the house keeping work done the first day there, and they called us late in the afternoon to check on that. The wake up call even tells you the weather forecast too (I think it was a real person's voice too, but I could be wrong, since it was in the early morning).
I only have two negative things about the hotel: parking and fitness center. I found out there is no self-parking, and it costs you $14 a day to park there. I was trying to use fitness center, and found out that it would cost you $22 to use it. Yup, $22, of course you are allowed to use some spa facilities, but I just want to do some weights :(

“Dont' stay here”

Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas

I stayed for 6 nights at the Trump in the middle of August. Comments then review below:

Atmosphere:
- Has a fancy lobby but seemed to have few guests, few staff and generally felt dead during my 6-nights there

Rooms:
- very soft, sponge-like beds
- nice bathroom, good jacuzzi bath
- well appointed with brand-name kitchen appliances
- some rooms are very noisy (soundproofing inadequate to mask the freight trains passing by throughout the night)

Facilities:
- no room service
- no bottled water in room (!)
- no mini bar in room
- expensive internet access
- lobby bar is dead
- the highly-rated restaurant (DTR) closed in July. Wouldnt surprise me if the whole hotel follows soon
- didnt use pool
- no smoking throughout

Location:
- very top of strip
- opposite fashion show mall which is good for shopping and has a food court
- taxis avoid it so you often have to cross the road to get one (and you will always need taxis from this hotel)

Review:

I used to discount 1 star reviews, but now after writing one I will be sure to read them!

This was my first time to Vegas and I expected great things from a Trump-branded hotel. I was let down from the start. When checking in I told reception that I was shattered after flying on two planes for 15 hours to get there. So they put me in room 1613 where the freight trains woke me up every hour or two through the night. Good hotels, at a minimum, guarantee guests good night's sleep; the Trump can't even do that. What's worse is that when I told them I wanted to move rooms there was no apology, just a knowing-expression... considering that the hotel was pretty much empty, why would they even put guests into substandard rooms? To be fair, my new room on the 44th floor almost muted out the trains.

Feel like a glass of water during the night? Unlucky no water is provided. Feel like a snack? Unlucky - no room service. In fact there is not even a mini bar. Feel like a good meal in your hotel? Unlucky, the respected restaurant has closed down. Feel like walking somewhere interesting from the hotel? Unlucky - there's only the mall opposite. Cross the road to the mall to get a taxi - they dont go there voluntarily.

DONT THINK YOU ARE GETTING A GREAT DEAL BY STAYING HERE - For the same price as a room in the Trump you could take one of the best rooms in one of the strip casinos and actually be in Vegas. You will also get points towards that casino's players club (and may even end up getting your room, shows or food for free). Most importantly you will be in a place which has something going for it..

If you want to be able to go downstairs and gamble, this hotel is not for you. There is no casino. However, after three days at the loud, smoky and tourist ridden Bellagio, the Trump was like heaven. There were no crowds, the staff was extraordinarily courteous and helpful, no noise from the casino and no smoke! As a matter of fact, the place smells wonderful. They blow some kind of fresh scent through the vents! We were greeted with cold water and to get to our room, we had to only walk through the lobby. Our room was on the 59th floor with a fabulous view of the south Strip. The room was lovely and clean with a small, fully equipped kitchen. It did not, however, have a minibar, so if thirsty, we had to go to the store in the lobby. I will add the the location is a bit peculiar, and not super handy for walking around (especially in the summer heat), but we had a car,and the valets were very quick, so it was not an issue for us. We took at taxi to the Venetian one night and it was less than $5.00. As stated above, if you are going and want your Vegas experience to be the traditional noisy, crowded, smoky one, you will not like the Trump. However, if you enjoy a respite from the commotion, the Trump is fantastic.
