We have booked a car through Thrifty. I booked in early Feb and daily check the prices. The one week total started at $290 for a Convertabile and by checking found the low of $229 about two weeks ago. I'm sure you can get a better cost on a smaller car, but I say book early and check prices often Thrifty canged $20.00 in a mater of 1 hour. You can update a better price if you reserve at their website. If you apply for their free Blue chip card, you will get a 10% discount number to use on the website. It took about 2-3 weeks to got the card and coupon.

Most car rentals allow unlimited mileage. I check the web sites directly: Thrifty, Budget, Dollar, Alamo are usually the cheapest and I find them pretty much all alike in service.

You might check www.destinationcoupons.com I found a 10% discount through dollar on their site (and got my best deal for an intermediate car in Las Vegas). The site also has a discount with Thrifty. But Dollar worked out cheaper for me. Also go out to Dollar's website and sign up for their FASTLANE service (it's free). They sent me two free upgrade coupons to be used anytime this year.

Dollar is a good way to go. Also, as mentioned, join "Fastbreak" if for no other reason than to have little to no waiting line. I've had problems with Thrifty and won't rent with them again. I've been satisfied with National. Bottom line, go with lowest price IF its a national chain.

If you don't mind me asking Steve, what were your problems with Thrifty?

April will be our third time renting from payless. Their site is www.paylesslasvegas.com

They have great rates and great service. I have never encountered a long wait at the airport or to the shuttle to go get the car.

We will rent for 7 days in April and are paying a total of $120 with taxes and fees and unlimited mileage. We usually end up with a Dodge Neon or similar and it works great.

I have reservations with Alamo for early Sat - late Tues @ $17.00 a day, less then a $100 total, thats the cheapest that I found. I guess it really depends on what days of the week you will be there too.

Has anyone found a rental car company in Las Vegas that doesn't require a deposit? I usually rent from Alamo, but I believe even they required a deposit in Vegas.
