 Mirage Pool Info

Thinking of staying at Mirage in August. I came across this information about the pool from the Mirage website, that I'd thought I'd pass along for anyone planning a stay at Mirage.

"Available Fridays through Sundays, Mirage Guests now have the option to reserve a poolside lounge chair from 10:00 a.m. to closing. The cost is $50.00 per chair, per day. Included with this: elevated beverage service through our friendly Cabana Hosts, comfortable seating space between chairs and the use of the chair for the entire day. Reserved lounge chairs are located at the south edge of the pool. To reserve your seat, please call (800) 456-4564, extension 6483 or see a cabana host for more details."

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Well, unfortunately it makes sense. You have a packed pool everyday, why not charge to sit around it so you can actually turn and touch your feet on the ground?

If you have 4 friends, get the cabana!

I thought it made sense too LOW. Not a bad money making idea . . . and guarantees you a chair during the busiest times.

Unbelievable!

They have been running deals for their basic room for about $55 per night during some dates in July and Aug.

Let's put things in perspective:

Room = $55 per night

Seat by pool = $50 per day

How much are the towels?????

Better yet, how much for a day at Bare? (less than $50)

Correction: $100 for 2 seats at the pool. Ridiculous. The seats at the pool cost more than the room.

I wonder how people who don't like user fees such as checked baggage, resort fees and others will react to this.

From the hotels POV it's a good idea. I wonder how many guests will concur?

A flat fee for the room, anything else, you pay to use it, might work.

Myself, would never pay $50 each for a lounger per day, yikes.... we usually only go to the pool 2 -3 hours a day at the most, and as you say compare that to the hotel room cost, doesnt make sense to us but on the other hand if you spend your days at the pool then yes do pay it to have the extra room and elevated beverage service if thats important to you.

I'll be at the north end of the pool holding a bunch of chairs all day. If you give me $25 per chair, I'll be glad to run and get your drinks for you (tipping is accepted). I'm sure I'll make more money doing that than I will gambling.

After the last experience I had at a Las Vegas pool I'd be tempted to pay it, to be honest. I had a pack of 3 girls manhandling all my stuff to move it when I went to take a quick dip in the pool to cool off. I had to basically run out of the pool and grab my cell phone out of this crazy girl's hand. They wanted 3 chairs together and just decided that they would evict me.

That is sort of sad, that you are at a pool but you can't actually swim, for fear of losing your chair...crazy. We are staying at the Mirage leaving on Wednesday. I do refuse, however to pay 50 for a chair.

It should be noted that this service is only for weekends, which I would assume is their busiest time.

If I were going for a weekend, I actually think I'd spend the $50 if my trip was all about the pool, but that's JMHO.
