 Monte Carlo Hotel/Casino

Hi folks! Can anyone give me a brief update on this hotel, is there any construction going on and is the pool open? We will be there in mid Sept. Thanks.

There is construction all around the Monte Carlo but you should not be too worried about it. There will be dust in the air but the noise has not been a big problem for guests. As for the pool it has been hit and miss depending on the construction noise and dirt in the air.

Stayed there from 6/27 -7/1. Good/basic hotel, nothing fancy and not very big. To me, these were pluses when making your way around all of the other casinos on the strip.

Pool: a line starts to form before 9am because there are a few rows here and there with cushioned lounge chairs. Music is NOT as loud as I imagined after all of the negative reviews (I am in my mid-30s so loud means LOUD). Had lunch poolside one day and was very good, drinks are pricey but expected when you don't get it for free in the casino)

Rooms: Again, basic. Stayed in 21:104 and didn't get alot of noise from City Center but a good view of its construction.

Food: Ate at the buffet one night. Skip it. Catch the FREE shuttle to the Rio (at Paris) and eat at Carnival, it's AWESOME and worth the $$

Slots: Did well, won money but than ultimately lost it again.

Only negative: When we checked in our first room had not been cleaned..at all. Called down to front desk and got a new room (took about 15 min though)

All in all, good place. Decent place to lay your head after walking all day.

Sorry, not very brief

Maybe not brief, but covered it well.

At the end of March I stayed there and can reccommend the Cafe. Good food at good prices and very good service. I had breakfast and dinner there.

I stayed last year in October. The construction is still going on and the pool was open. Upon check in ask for a room away from the construction.

The drinks for free if you are gambling. You have to pay for drinks at the pool which are not cheap.
