whats your most epic swing in gambling

as in, started off with little, got huge and then failed to the point of having less than you started?

Mine would be starting with a 25 dollar chip at flamingo and over the next 2 hours turning it into 1000. I then lost it all and got comped a free breakfast buffet. I lost on all accounts that day

I turned 3 quarters into $960.

That was pretty cool.

Next trip I turned 2 quarters into $312.

Oh most recently I started with $20 got to a little over $200 then back to $50 before I called it quits. I figured that was still more than double what I started with, and I got more points in my account. Oh wait...DON'T CHASE COMPS!!! sigh

Turned a $200 buy-in at a blackjack table at Four Queens into $4,000.I got cocky and went to the MGM to play blackjack in the "high roller" room. I didn't lose the entire 4k, but it was ugly. Worst tasting comped buffet ever.

I'd say two weeks ago at the Borgata.

Down to my last 150 (out of 1000) so deceided to play two hands starting at 15 min bet and within an hour got it back to 900 dollars. Then lost 100, and cashed out at 800.

That was a rush.

Arrived in Vegas with $20 in my pocket. Spin #1 in WOF got bonus for 2500 nickles. Turned my $145 into $350 after playing a poker tournament still on the first day. By noon the second day....I went to the ATM.

I was happy though, went 24 hours on $20.

Started at 6 am playing 25 cent VP with $20 after two hours was up to $300. Went for breakfast, went back to the same machine after, put the ticket back in and went down to $1.25 after another 2 hours of play. Got back up to $20 and cashed out. Had a blast!

I had blown through my cash (about $300) in just a few hours playing slots at Paris the first day I was there. I didn't worry too much thinking I could cash a check. I went to the casino cashier and they told me that I would have to have my play "rated" before they would cash more than $200. What? I had a platinum players card and they had always taken a check no problem before! They said they stopped using a casino system (Global VIP card)and I said "Well can't get much play to rate on $200"! But I took it, went to the dollar machines and hit for $900! Of course I eventually lost that also, but at least I didn't have to go elsewhere to cash a check.

In Feb I won $1350 at MB on a $ slot and ended up losing most of it before I left 2 days later!

I am off to Vegas on the 12th July so this story is pre vegas.

My last monthly pay check arrived on the 16th of june and most of it went to buying US dollars leaving myself a budget of 31 dollars a day. This is coming from a guy who spends alot and loves to play slots.

Anyway all is well and havent touched a pokie until Last friday.. I went to move my car during work and thought id go to lunch and have a quick slap.

I had 50 cash on me and 350 left in my bank to last until I went on holidays. I thought id only play small bets (40c hits).

I hit nothing whatsoever and quickly lost 50 dollars. Silly me decided to take 50 out of my bank..

I ended up playing 1 dollar hits to try and get my money back and after losing that and taking 200 more out I had upped the bet to $2.50 bets. Still nothing I had withdrawn all $350 from my bank and lost $50 from my wallet within an hour.

Being stubborn as hell I decided to take $200 off my credit card justifying it one way or another.

The first 100 went in less than a minute and I had 100 left.

I sat down and put $50 in 2 machines sitting next to each other. One machine just chewed the 50 straight away and the second machine "50 lions" gave me an instant 20 dollar hit so I was up to 70. Now i didnt expect much perhaps 1 or 2 hundred to save some face.

A few hits later I was down to 38 dollars left when I hit a feature.

Now in my experience this machine either pays really well or not at all so I wasnt confident.

After a few spins and not really paying attention the spin of a lifetime came up. I turned around to see this

I was initially in shock and it was like when you have a car accident everything happens so quickly. I went over to the other bay of machines and grabbed a friend and said man you have to come see this..

Anyway just so you know the lions which appear in row 1 and 2 are the max paying item, and the diamonds in row 3 4 and 5 are all substitues. 5 lions pay 500 credits on a 1 credit bet (I was playing 10 credits per line).

Anyway the total pay was $2200 off 1 hit and it ended up looking like this afterwards

Now that was the biggest turnaround. 600 down and 2 weeks to go to vegas with no money (besides the 4000us i had put aside for my holiday) turned into $2200 and that bought me an extra 1000 us and a whole lot of drinks.

Oh and btw I ended up going back to work at 3pm lol. Lucky my boss wasnt in!

I sat down at a blackjack table at The Wynn back in 2005. I was staying at The Venetian but came over to Wynn to have dinner.

I bought in $200 at a $15 table and figured I would play for a while. Well, over the next hour and a half, I turned the $200 into just over $4900.

I was lucky enough to leave with all my winnings, but a host also came out to greet me, and then she followed up with a card and short note once I had returned home.

The casino was wonderful, she was nice, and I have been a loyal guest of The Wynn and Encore since that night.

I didn't lose any of my winnings on that November night, but you can darn well believe the The Wynn more than made that money back over the last four years! LOL!

LOL - what a fun thread. I am a VERY low roller to begin with, but here's my ancedote...

This was at the Kewadin casino in St Ignace, MI, when ex-DH & I were on our honeymoon to Mackinac Island.

We were on a shoestring budget, and the motel we stayed at gave a free Casino "package" which was $20 in slot play.

We had plopped in the final quarter of the $20 or so we won from the package, when all of a sudden, "ding, ding, ding" - next thing we know, the casino attendant was by DH's side, handing him like $800 or so in cash...so - we were able to enjoy the rest of our honeymoon in style (this was 12 years ago so $800 went farther then). ;)
