 Wynn vs Encore

Hey all - long time no chat. I'm a vegas regular, generally hit the Wynn 3 or 4 times a year but have not been at all in the past year or so. I'm heading out in a couple weeks and am trying to decide if I should try Encore this time instead of the Wynn. Questions are...

1. Who's stayed at both and what's your preference?

2. Encore has it's own casino right? How does it compare to Wynn's? Are the table limits and vibe basically the same?

3. Regardless of which I choose I will have dinner at Bartalotta. How far of a walk is it from Encore to Wynn? Can you make the trip all in doors or do you have to walk across parking lots, sidwalks, etc?

Any other input greatly appreciated.

Marc, how ya been buddy?

Encore and Wynn are connected inside by a short hallway.

Here's the new casino map:

Have only stayed at Wynn, but pics of the slightly larger rooms at Encore look good to me. Maybe because I like brown as my fav color.

(Check YouTube for vids)

Encore Casino is small and the whole thing is heavy in reds!!!

Craps is your game right?

Lowrance!!! How awesome to hear from you. How have things been?

Cool - I may stay at Encore just to give it a try but will still probably gamble at the Wynn's main casino. That place is the most comfortable casino on earth. :)

And Yes craps is pretty much my game. I play some black jack as well but once the beers kick in its all about tossing dice!

When are you headed out next?

Looking at Sept 25/26/27 so wife can see Cher.

The maybe sometime in Dec.

Love the Wynn/Encore. You can't go wrong with either. And Encore guests can use the Wynn pool.

Funny thing, this last trip LVDog was in Vegas and I bought him a drink. He's the guy who bought my first LIIT for me at that lil M&G we were at in 2007! But I called him "Marc". Not his name, lol

(Memory is not my strong point, lol)

Glad to see you're back and going to Vegas!

I like the Encore rooms better (much better actually) but I prefer the Wynn's common areas- bars, restaurants, casino, etc. The two hotels are connected and it's an easy walk from one to the other in an enclosed shopping area (just a couple minutes.)

I agree 100% with JackandSally. The rooms are definitely better at Encore. They are only slightly larger but have the seperate seating area and TV. But after you leave your room, promptly make the short walk through Encore over to Wynn (5 minutes tops) because the vibe is way better over there. Encore just seems too subdued for our taste.

I second JackandSally on Encore rooms. A friend let me see her Encore room and it is tops...quite upscale and outfitted with all the latest contempo appointements. The casino is a bit boutiquish if you know what I mean...curtains pulled aside to suggest seperated gaming areas. It is really nice if you do not like being drowned by acres of machines.

XS is quite the night spot for the hip, party crowd.

Wynn and Encore are connected by a somewhat short corridor of high end boutiques...the term, stores, would connotate cheap. We are talking Chanel etc.

As for restaurants, I much prefer the Wynn for variety, although, Switch and Sinatra would be interesting.

Hi Marc,

I've stayed at both Wynn and Encore (Resort Rooms), I prefer Encore rooms over Wynn. The style, quietness and ambience of Encore is superior to Wynn in my opinion.

Encore has its own casino, it's small, don't know about table limits, sorry. IMO, I would imagine them to be similar. To me the Encore Casino was very quiet compared to Wynn's Casino.

As others have said, there is an indoor walkway connecting both properties, no need to step outside.

Best of luck, I really liked the Encore Resort room over Wynn's... beautiful.

Try out the Encore. Why not?

I've stayed at both. I prefer the Encore rooms, but Wynn has the edge in front desk service. You've probably read about the nightmare which is the Encore checkin line. The room service also seems to be more efficient (I stayed at the Panoramic room at Wynn and just regular resort room at the Encore if it makes a difference).

The vibe is quite different. The Encore has much less traffic so it feels more quiet and secluded. If you like to play by yourself or play with the same people at a craps table, Encore is the way to go. The table limits are pretty much identical. You will have more tables going at the Wynn.

The reality is that if you stay at the Encore, you'll most likely find yourself walking over to the Wynn side. The walk from Encore to the Bartolotta can take you about 8-10 minutes if you walk slowly. If you walk at a quick pace you should get there in 5min.
