 The Ongoing Wynn/Palazzo/Bellagio Debate

After spending time on these forums and reading various LV travel blogs, I have noticed something. The Wynn, The Palazzo, and The Bellagio are all attempting to attract the same clients, and they are in stiff competition with each other.

They all do not have much of a theme beyond elegance, they all have spectacular dining, they are all massive, they all cost ridiculous amounts of money to build, and they are all some of the more expensive accommodations on the Strip.

And that is why there is not a general consensus on which one is "the best."

When one stays at these properties, he/she seems to gain quite sense of loyalty to one of these properties. I stayed at the Palazzo last summer and fell in love. As some of you may know, I always recommend the Palazzo to others. I love the openness of the entire property, especially the casino, I love the huge rooms, I love the amazing shopping, I love the great food, I love the Player's Club, and most of all, I love the location.

I find the Wynn to be a bit "dark." Some find it beautiful, but I just don't like the dark/ornate feel of the place. Those who like the Wynn say the Palazzo is "cheap looking." Those who like the Bellagio say that it has the best location on the strip.

So, I decided to create this thread to address these issues. I know that we will never find a "winner," but we can post our opinions. If you like any of these properties, say why you do. Better yet, if you have stayed at all three, compare them.

PS - please, not sarcastic remarks like "why would you pay so much $ for a hotel" or "your thread is useless." If you something valuable to say, say it. If you don't, don't. And I realized that this has been discussed before, but I figured a central place was needed to discuss one of the more common questions on this board.

Well, I am glad to know that my original post makes sense and that many others finding this thread useful.

Underpar, I have not stayed at the Bellagio or Wynn. I have gambled and dined at the Wynn, and seen the rooms. I have also gambled and dined at the Bellagio.

Wynn/Enore IMO is really going(once Encore opens December 22) to be in a class of it's own(would you expect anything different from Steve Wynn?).

To be honest I know alot of people do not like Wynn becuase it is too high-end.

Wynn also built Beau Rivage in Biloxi (fondly nick-named Baby Bellagio), I really do want to visit this one. Need some time off from Vegas, though! lol

Carolina, the Beau is our favorite little get-away on our Miss. Coast....it's lovely and has alot of the same aura and restaurants as Bellagio. I enjoy all the rooms...especially the Gulf side rooms as you can watch the fishing boats come and go....really relaxing. The service is top notch; and it has the large airy casino. Steve Wynn really knows how to develop the beautiful casino.

I thought about visiting Beau Rivage...but I just don't think it's for me. One of my favorite things to do in Vegas is just stroll up and down the strip and check out the various properties. You can't do that in Biloxi. Plus, you don't have all the shows, dining, etc. I don't JUST go to Vegas to gamble.

Anyone know what the beaches are like in Biloxi though?

The Biloxi/Gulfport beach is not pretty like further East in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Florida Panhandle. It's mainly a fishing village and casino area. The new Hard Rock is right next door to the Beau Rivage....and there's a shuttle that will take you to other casinos except for Imperial Palace. IP is a nice big casino/hotel also on the bay area. Hard Rock and Beau Rivage have plenty of entertainment as well as the Gulfcoast Coliseum in Gulfport. Island View Casino/Hotel in Gulfport is really new and nice....they have a good bit of entertainment.

Just check out their websites.

Anywho.....I'm sorry.....didn't mean to hi-jack this thread.

"After spending time on these forums and reading various LV travel blogs, I have noticed something. The Wynn, The Palazzo, and The Bellagio are all attempting to attract the same clients, and they are in stiff competition with each other." How astute you are, but you forgot that EVERY casino on the face of the earth is in competition for the $$ these people are willing to spend on rooms and gamble. I guess my point is you're not as astute as I thought for half a second, or you believe you are.

"When one stays at these properties, he/she seems to gain quite (a) sense of loyalty to one of these properties." How can one develop a sense of loyalty to someplace one has never gone?

"but I figured a central place was needed to discuss one of the more common questions on this board." OK, then why did you stsrt this post? The most common questions are:

Shuttle vs taxi.

Which is the best breakfast buffet?

Is 6:5 21 a good bet?

Where can I play $3 blackjack?

Where can I get the leftovers from the Surf Buffet?
