You might find that when this $$$$$$$government bail out gets approved, the dollar rate we get offered in the uk will keep dropping, as the US economy will in theory look stronger??? Try ICE(International Currency Exchange) website, i got my dollars this week for 1.755, heading to vegas next week!!!!!

The current erratic state of the world's economies make it impossible to predict which way the forex markets will go. Sterling at $1.70 is still good value for UK visitors to the US so by all means buy now.

If you want expert advice you'd be better off checking out the Wall Street Journal or Financial Times, but right now I doubt those guys have much more of a clue than those posting on here!

Oooh Sue, if any of us knew the answer to that question we would be earning 6 figure City salaries.

I have been watching the rates too and a fortnight ago the market rate had risen steadily to 1.85 but it has

done nothing but drop in the last two weeks and you are now lucky to get 1.70 on the high street.

Thomas Exchange Global seem to offer about the best rates and they show comparisons on their website so you can see how it stacks against the banks and the high street outlets.
