Which casinos have pools that don't blast music? Noise pollution seems to get worse every time I visit Vegas and when I want to relax and take a dip, I want to do it in relative peace with a good book. It seems that this an impossible wish! It's bad enough that you can't gamble, shop, or eat anywhere without being subjected to crappy piped in music--particularly since it seems to be the same 20 or so crappy songs on endless repeat, everywhere!

I couldn't agree with you more! I'm not sure whose idea it was to change Las Vegas pools from places to rest and relax into places to party, but I hope they know better now that they have grown up.

We used to love Mandalay Bay during the week, but MGM has changed the atmosphere and it isn't the same.

I agree about Wynn, and it is now one of our favorites.

But the best advice I can give is make sure you visit Mon-Wed. These are the quietest days at all pools, when it comes to both crowds and noise. Thursday you will notice that the music will change, and there will be more younger people around. And of course Friday & Saturday, you won't even know it's the same pool you enjoyed on Tuesday.

Party = crowds drinking. Crowds drinking = revenue for hotel.

People lying around baking in the sun quietly = no revenue.

End of Economics lesson. :)

A few years back if Im not mistaken the revenue from gaming became the secondary source of income to the hotel industry for the first time in history, so the Hotels are now trying to make every dollar they can from every possible source causing the town to become more honky tonk.

The tourist coming in now are gambling less but speding more on other activities.

mgm pool offers 4 or 5 pools. i think one is adult only and a bit away from the madness. i personally enjoy the madness in vegas and do the lazy river there. also, the other pools at mgm in june and july were sweltering hot bath water! but i guess it depends on when your trip is.

i think if you want quiet and peace, vegas may not be the proper vacation for you!

LOL

enjoy.

The pool at the Vetian/Palazzo that Bridgefan is talking about is the "Venezia Tower Pool"

The pool at MGM Grand that is supposed to be quiter is called the "Directors Pool".

Signature Hotel at MGM Grand has 3 seperate hotel towers and each tower has it's own pool. The Signature is not a party type enviornment.

The Rennissance by Marriott and the Westin Las Vegas have quiter pools(but smaller) also.

And last but not least if you want to pay $350/per night for a standard room...the Four Seasons Las Vegas has a quiet pool area.

IMO you have to go off strip to one of the luxury resorts like Ritz Carlton or KW Marriott. Even Sun Coast is fairly decent.

It's all economics. As soon as people get tired of the music and stop coming, it will change. Until then, you will have to limit your choices or live with the noise. We were in Vegas last week and I was impressed with the pool at the Venesia tower as mentioned before. It's called the Venesia Pool Garden. No young people, elderly folks reading books, no music . . . just what you are looking for.

I put together a photo of the pool:

I think you could be staying at Venetian or Palazzo to enjoy this pool.

MGM has an adult pool that is quiet, relaxing and a lovely escape from the noise and crowds at the other pools there...I just love it!

"i think if you want quiet and peace, vegas may not be the proper vacation for you!"

Point taken but it would just be nice to have some respite from the constant barrage of nonstop noise, you know? My Vegas trips tend to be minimum one week long (travelling from Germany) and the sensory overload can be overwhelming after a few days. Thanks for the suggestions so far--some higher end places than what I'm accustomed to but you do get what you pay for.

I'm only 34 but I find myself becoming more and more attracted to the same places and activities as the senior citizen crowd in Vegas. :-) I couldn't care less about clubbing, ultralounges, or pool parties...but not quite ready for bingo or shuffleboard!
