I am hoping to find a reasonably priced spa in the area where my girlfriends and I can go for massages, manicures and pedicures. We aren't interested in going to a seedy place that is concerned with the number of clients that can be crammed in an hour. We would like to be pampered, but not with an inflated pricetag. I have read a few similar posts, but any extra advice will be greatly appreciated

The Canyon Ranch Spa is nice, but it is pricey.

The spa in Bally's (in the mall to the monorail) seemed ok - the prices seem much more reasonable.

If "by in the area" you mean The Strip then Canyon Ranch and The Bath House at Mandalay Bay would get my vote. They are both a little pricey but oh so worth it!

If by in the area you mean Las Vegas then I would also add the spa at the JW Marriott about a 20 minute cab ride form the strip.

If you have a rental car try either a Euphoria Day Spa and Salon or a Dolphin Court Spa. For a really economical choice check out the LV School of Massage Therapy.

I have heard some good things about Angel Touch. I looked up their pricing, and the photos seem fairly flattering. (www.angelstouchspa.com) I liked what I saw at Canyon Ranch too. But it is a bit pricey. The girls I'll be with may not be too thrilled with the pricing at Canyon Ranch.

I'll call for Health Dept scoring before making any appointments anywhere. If Angel Touch passes with approval, which of the two location are best?

Any there any day spas to completely steer clear of?

Never heard of Angels Touch. I will be in that area (west) in the morning...if I have time I will stop and look.

The Canyon Ranch prices DO include gratuity! So its not that bad. The quality and choices are excellent though. The locker room area is beautiful and is full service providing everything you need (towels, shower gel, shampoo, blow dryers, really everything even disposable razors and shave gel) There are refreshments and fresh fruit served also. I really enjoyed my day there. Hope this helps.

Hi...

Made it over to Angel's Touch west location. This is not for you as it is more of a couples spa. There is no room to accomodate more than two people.

The west location really did not feel like a spa but rather a strip mall which is a reflection of where it is. The place was dark with a low ceiling.

The shower was a plastic standard shower while the ceilings had cottage cheese on them. The changing area looked like a closet.

Everything was very neat and clean!

Can't comment on the services as I just took a quick tour.

However the very nice lady that gave me a tour said that the east location is a very different situation as it is a true spa. There is a meditation room for 12 as well as multiple pedicure manicure stations.

If you are going to go with angel's touch go with the east location. (eastern)

I will say that with a group of girlfriends the spa at the JW Marriott is really worth a look. What I like about it is that there is a "common room" with pools, showers, sauna, etc. This allows you to spend time with your friends while relaxing.
