I went with my boyfriend at the start of the year. We stayed at Hollywood Celebrity Hotel and Orbit Hotel. Both were clean, centrally located and reasonably priced.

ali1786, as has been suggested you should post on the LA forum. Without knowing your age, tastes and just what you're interested in seeing and doing it's hard to offer any definite advice.

In case you weren't aware of it, you really need a car if you're planning to spend a few days in and around LA.
