 XMas In Vegas

Hi everybody,

I was just wondering if anyone has done xmas in Vegas before and would like to fill me in a little with their experience. Whats it like at Xmas time etc.....

Are there any restuarants that do the traditional xmas dinner.

Can anyone recommend any good suggestions???

We have done Vegas for New Years and found it too be totally awesome, so this time around we are bringing 15 of our friends from Australia to have Xmas in Vegas.

If anyone has any info plz feel free to drop me a line at jezkim1@hotmail.com

Thanks

Jez

There is very little Christmas in Vegas. A couple hotels will have Christmas trees. The big difference I see is that many of the big shows are closed for the holidays. The other thing is many of the retail stablishment open late Christmas Day. Most buffets offer the traditional Christmas meal.

Xmas is a mixed bag.

On the plus side it is pretty slow time so you can get good room rates, crowds are thin, resturant reservations are not needed, and buffet lines are short.

On the downside if you are Christian, Xmas does not exist for the most part, so don't expect to see any Xmas spirit or icons. On Xmas day a lot of shows and restuarants will be closed. However the restuarants that are open serve Xmas meals along with buffets. With that said the buffets are very busy on Xmas day and the prices inflated for the meal because it is one of the few days the locals come out b/c we do not know how to cook or have extended families in town to share with.

We were there this past Christmas and it didnt feel christmasy, no that I expected it to or cared. It was pretty slow, the Bellagio (were we stayed) was decorated as were some other hotels. We saw a few santas walking out of the casino (I forget which one) and we just made reservations all week, so eating anywhere wasn't a problem. I would just suggest to make reservations ahead of time.
