 Sportsbook

I am planning a trip to Vegas in November for a lot of college and pro football action..... Wondering where every thinks is the best book for a great crowd with good odds and preferably a free drink or two.....

The Mirage is spacious and has good drink service. Ditto for Caesars. The TI is a bit smaller but the people are real nice. The Wynn is really fancy with huge leather chairs but many of them are reserved.

I would stay away from the MGM (smal) and the NyNy(also small).

Bellagio is also fancy but you have to get there early for a seat.

People talk about the ESPN zone but I have never been there.

As far as odds, if you're on the strip, the spread is going to be pretty close all the way around. Shopping for better odds might get you a point or so but you then need to consider the location of the casino.

Have watched several games at Bellagio Sportsbook, including several this past week. They have excellent drink service, leather recliners. You must get there early for football games, though. We also watched some NFL games at Bally's Sportsbook last year and were disappointed. Not very comfortable and no free drinks.

We did take a peek at Planet Hollywood Sportsbook yesterday, and it was terrible. Very, very small. It felt like a conference room.

You'll get better odds off-Strip but not places where you want to hang out and watch a game. Place your bets before the games and then go to an off-strip sports bar like GW's Place.

we like the lv hilton, wynn and bellagio

if you have internet while here you can check odds on games thru this link to see who has the best but to be honest with football it is rare if the difference is more then 1/2-1 point money lines will have a beter chance to shop for some value

I went to the GVR book over the March Maddness weekend and thought it was great. The book was not that crowded, had great drink service and each seat has its own television. It is way off the strip, but it was pretty cool.. The buffet was excellent. I also like the book at the Mirage and Ceasars. The Wynn was excellent also, but it is quite small. Got their early to make my baseball wager and enjoyed the game in the big leather chairs....

I had read somewhere that many of the Sportsbooks on the Strip are very stingy with their free cocktails- and that some of them require you to get a "drink coupon" each time you wager- Is that not true, or if it is , which sportsbooks do that?

I would also assume that drinks at ESPN Zone are not free as it is not a Sportsbook but a restaurant /bar- but I know the Sprtsbook at NYNY is right next to it- do they have some sort of arrangemnet for cocktail service?

OK - I know next to nothing about sportsbook BUT I placed a bet for a friend this last trip @ the Venetian. I would never stay to watch anything there myself because of the odor but they did have much better odds than the other strip properties for my friends bet. 20-1 VS 12-1 that I saw @ every other strip hotel we went through (mostly center strip).

However, they did give me drink coupons when I placed the bet so I assume this is one of the stingy places you need the coupons for free drinks.

Rio has a nice book and good drink service. Make sure you have your tickets out on the table where waitresses can see them. Books like Caesars are great for watching the game, but they expect you to bet at least a hundred a game to get drinks. On NFL Sundays they rope off much of the seating and reserve it for their nickel and dime players, too (that is five and ten thousand a game).

Imperial Palace has done much recently to upgrade their book. They have movie theater type seating and room for lots of people. Their drink service is good.

I hated MGM sportsbook, way too small and if you wanted to get a drink and you didn't have a ticket we were made to pay first and then the drink waitress would return with the drinks. 2x i got up and bought my own drinks before the waitress returned.

Bellagio sportsbook was great with free drinks all day, no tickets required. (2 football seasons ago...it might have changed) However we needed to get to the sprtsbook by 8am to get the last 2 seats for the 11am games. Getting there that early is not too easy after a Vegas saturday night!!!
