If you eat here and get food poisoning, don't expect the Mirage to do anything about it. They get very lawyery about it, claiming they don't own the restaurant, so sorry, but please come again. Um, no, I won't. (And, the sushi was very mediocre to begin with. You can get better in the grocery store.) more

On arrival at the restaurant, we were greeted pleasantly but I should have been worried when I saw a woman smoking while sitting at the counter where the chefs were cooking the food. Anyway, we were shown to our seats in the garden area which was lovely. The waiter came and gave us our menu and took our drinks orders... more

Agree with another poster that this restaurant should be ranked higher, had a fantastic meal here before Terry Fator this past Saturday evening! Decor and ambiance were very classy, food was presented very well, and tasted amazing, highlights included: spicy tuna rolls, ahi tuna steak, ribs, chocolate cake. My only slightly negative remark is the service: our bottle of wine... more

Went to the Mirage and stopped here on a whim. My husband and I ordered 5 items, spicy octopus roll, crab roll, lobster spring rolls, calamari, and chicken skewers and had the apple dessert. OMG my husband and I thought the flavors were amazing. This is a tapas style menu and is pricey, but it is Vegas and well worth... more

We sat down to have a drink with friends in the lounge & ended up having a wonderful meal. They have a special that is 2 people for $45.00, you get 2 appetizers, 1 entree & 1 dessert. They also offer $7 menu, $7 drinks, 7 days a week. We tried spicy tuna rolls, tempura shrimp rolls, chicken robata &... more

Japonais is offering a happy hour menu 7 nights a week with $7 cocktails and appetizers. My husband and I wanted a light meal before seeing LOVE, and this was perfect. We sat in the lounge, and had wonderful server. We chose 2 sushi rolls and the teriyaki drummetts. All the food was great, so great that we ended up... more

The short version is, the flavors of the food do not live up to the descriptions on the menu. The restaurant is situated by the entrance to the Mirage in the front of the casino. They do a decent job of using music to drown out the noise, but this is defiantly not an atmosphere for a quite romantic dinner.... more

The food at Japonais was tasty (with some errors), but quite pricey, and no better overall than a teriyaki place at any mall food court. The ahi tuna appetizer was good. Our cocktails tasted good, but didn't seem to have any alcohol. My husband had the lobster teriyaki, and the strongly flavored sauce completely overpowered the small portion of lobster.... more

Typical of the strip, this restaurant was overpriced. My husband paid $16 for 2 shrimp appetizer, but the sticky rice was tasty. I agree with the reviews about the atmosphere. Basically if you are not worrying about prices and just blowing it out, I would recommend this restaurant. Great offerings on menu and quality food and excellent ambiance. If however,... more
