Seedy on the outside, priceless on the inside!!! The Golden Steer has " the best steaks" and the service is excellent and entertaining. The decor is Rat Pack. You can sit in the Sinatra or Elvis Booth and and enjoy an evening that you will not soon forget. On my next trip to Vegas, that will be my first stop. more

My brother-in-law asked one of the locals for the name of a good steakhouse, whata joke ! The steak I had was terrible--they even charged us for water. What away to spoil a las vegas getaway. The prices were as high as the Stratusphere!!! more

Pricey - but some of the best steakhouse food I have ever had. Came here because it was in my airline dining program - and had heard of the old style ambience. And wow this was like going back in time - old dark room - huge booths - and ours was "Sammy's" as denoted by the plaque over it:... more

I was in Las Vegas with my daughter celebrating her 40th birthday. The restaurant we had planned on visiting was closed for the holiday, so we went in search of another. We had heard of the Golden Steer from a friend and just happened to drive past so we stopped. It was quite hot and we were dressed casually so... more

This is an old-school Vegas steakhouse with a 1960's vibe to its style and decor. Pretty expensive but decent steaks. Continuous Sinatra music (had to ask them to turn it down so we could talk.) Good for entertaining clients if you have an expense account, you can run up a pretty stiff tab in a hurry. We had a large... more

A neighbor in Atlanta told me about this place so I thought I would check it out. As we entered I thought, OH NO! We made a huge mistake. The booths in the front half of the restaurant are tacky black vinyl and the booths in the back room are all bright 70's red vinyl. The 70's brown paneling makes... more

I must say this place did not look like much on the outside. I have just moved to Vegas from Chicago so needless to say I am very picky about my steakhouses but more important than appearence is food. The inside is a total 180 from the outside. Decorated in a classy 1950s decore. I must say the staff were... more

My boyfriend & I wanted a real sit-down meal inside a real dining room, as opposed to the fast food we'd been having. We drove around a bit til we spotted the Golden Steer & I thought it looked like just what we were looking for....an off the beaten path, nice steakhouse with steakhouse ambiance (I'm from Idaho beef country).... more

When you enter this restaurant, they are eager to tell you all of the famous people that have eaten at the restaurant. They have booths named after famous people like the Rat Pack that frequented the place long ago. Of course, I am sure it was a better restaurant back then. I ordered the Caesar salad, fillet mignon (medium), and... more

My fiancee and I recently married at the Flamingo Las Vegas. We chose Golden Steer for our after-wedding meal, because we were looking for a little Old Vegas in our dining experience. The thought of eating at one of the Strip "shopping mall" type restaurants didn't appeal to us. True, the place was fairly empty, but we were there around... more
