This is the best deal in Vegas! You can't beat the price or the location if you want to experience Freemont Street. The employees were very friendly and incredibly helpful. The room was small (what do you expect, the place was built 100 years ago) but the bed was more comfortable than the 4 star hotels on the strip. The... more

Stayed midweek and only paid $19 per night! Now, had I paid $50 or more, I would have been let-down and not happy, but for a cheap stay it was just right. In short: you can tell this used to be a run-down motel that did a very good job of remodeling recently. It shows that they spent some good... more

We spent a friday night in this hotel and only paid $40. The room was very basic and small but on the plus side they had been remodeled and we had no problems with the bed, bathroom or shower. If you intend to spend lots of time in your room i wouldn't pick the Golden Gate. but if your like... more

When I booked a room in this hotel I didn't really care about the history of the place. I was just looking to save a few bucks. I didn't care that the hotel didn't have a pool, fitness room, night clubs or room service, I just needed a place to sleep at night, and shower in the morning. Check in... more

This 100 year old building has been cared for but could still use additional work. The exterior of the building looks great as did my remodeled room with the exception of the rather tired, worn and tiny bathroom. Upon check in I was given a choice of a quiet room in the back or a room facing Fremont St. were... more

Over the last 15 years,my wife and I have stayed at almost all the downtown hotels in Vegas because we like the closeness of the Freemont street area. In December we stayed at Binions, and while gambling in the Golden Gate one night my wife asked if she could check out one of the rooms, because we heard that they... more

I stayed here May 23, 2009 for after my airline changed my flight and I needed a cheap place for just the one night. It's located under the canopy on Fremont Street and in a very safe area. It's at the end of the street next to Main Street. I had a pullman suitcase and had no trouble walking there... more

Service was good, rooms are old & small but clean. Bed had a good firm mattress. It's located on Freemont St. which is the downtown original area. There is a long covered promenade with free concerts & several other casinos. Each night there is a video show on the long promenade ceiling. Noisy area. more

I loved this casino/hotel. Everyone here is sooooo very friendly, from the desk clerks, Allen, and Debbie, and Conrad... to the housekeeping people, to the dealers at blackjack, floor personnel, cashiers and CW's, restaurant people, and even security. Bernie, one of the security people made it a point to make sure that I had a great time. I can't say... more

I booked May 31 to June 5 at the Golden Gate. Because I wasn't sure I'd like it, I also booked a couple of nights at the Golden Nugget. After one night at GG, I cancelled that other reservation. I arrived at the GG early on a Sunday. They did not have anything ready facing Fremont, so I left my... more
