First and foremost remember you're not on the strip. You're on las vegas blvd, the strip begins about 5 miles or so north. As I've stayed numerous times in las vegas, never at the same property twice, I decided to give the south point a try as they had a good deal for the 4th of july weekend (stayed 3rd... more

We recently returned from a long weekend at South Point Hotel. Great hotel, casino and restaurants! We had a great time even though we did not do so well at Black Jack or bowling. The hotel is not close to the strip, so if you want to go to the strip, you'll need a car. In my opinion, there really... more

This is definitely a gem in the desert. The hotel is in excellent conditions, has ample parking, free valet parking and also has a full service casino. Also there is a MOVIE THEATER on site, a spa and a bowling alley. This hotel is truly awesome and the price is very reasonable. The room is very spacious and clean. It... more

The pros: new hotel easy to get to from the freeway. The check-in line was long (it was the 4th of July weekend) but it moved fast and they gave us bottled water while we waited. The hotel elevator wasn't too far from the front desk (this is not always the case in Vegas - I think it took me... more

We stayed here an entire week for a convention. As others have noted, it's far from the real lights and action in Las Vegas. It took a long time to drive anywhere to see shows downtown, etc. The standard rooms were spacious and clean, but poor staff service overall was a continuous issue and a disappointment. Pros: * Price *... more

Booked a cheap rate through Hotwire, who frankly fraudulently deemed this hotel "near strip south." it's 7 miles from the MGM, which is practically at the end of the strip. Huge development, fairly high end and clean. Lots of the amenities : two arcades, bowling, movies attract families; so there were lots of families there. Retirees and locals, until Friday... more

Stayed here last year and this year for a convention. Great value and a nice place. Staff is helpful and polite. Large, nicely appointed rooms. Biggest complaint is lack of free Internet access ($12.99/day) and $15/day charge if you want to use the workout room, which is very nice. Would like to see these items included in the rate. Nice... more

Fri-Sat 2 night stay for less than $150.00. Room has 2 Full-Size beds (they consider them queen). Large 42in LCD tv. Large bathroom. Everything was very clean, and organized in the room. Bath and Body Works shampoo, and conditioner along with mouth wash. Gambling was excellent (slots). The crowd is approx about 35-65yrs old. The coupon book gives you a... more

We usually stay on the Strip, but we were sick of overpaying for old, dingy hotel rooms so we decided to chance it and stay at the South Point. We stayed around the time of the name change from South Coast to South Point and everything was brand new. Great, huge room - very updated and CLEAN! We rented a... more
