Husband promised me that if I agreed to stay here and not the Palazzo or Wynn, we could rent a car. Soo, I decided to grin and bear it and stayed in a Vintage room. That is a room where you have to walk up stairs to get to it. Nice old furniture and the room is clean enough. My... more

We booked a room for 4 people - had 2 huge queen beds. Quite clean, a casino just downstairs. Pretty nice buffet. We didn't expect much and it was fine - who is staying in the hotel room in Vegas?? more

I booked a vintage room which is above the casino. Stairway access only for these rooms. The vintage room was nicely furnished and very clean. The ventilation system produced hum and vibration but did not disturb me but can see how others could be bothered. The El Cortez is a very short walk to Fremont St. Experience which I made... more

I really like this hotel because I am a solo traveler that loves Vegas! I am female by the way but if had a man , I would perfer more luxury. You know, couples spend more time IN the room but for me, when I wake, I hit the ground running and enjoy the STREET! I gamble, eat , and... more

The El Cortez has made changes and updates that should make anyone staying in the downtown area consider it as their first choice. As always the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, great bargains on rooms and meals make a visit to the El Cortez worth it. The drinks keep coming. I didn't recognize the place at first, but all the changes... more

We had stayed downtown before but this was the first time at El Cortez. We thought the room was very nice, beautifully furnished and clean and the bed was comfortable. I was disappointed that there was no mini-fridge or hair dryer in the room, and they were stingy with the towels. The downside was the casino - way too smoky... more

I just returned from my weekend stay at the Cabana Suites in Las Vegas. The Suites are very much a part of the El Cortez Casino. You must check in at the EC front desk, park at the EC valet or self park, and when you call the hotel operator from your room it is the EC operator. When we... more

I have stayed at the ElCo several times now. The rooms are clean and the amenities good. Some of the fixtures in the bathroom are cheap, but they are still better than the ones in my apartment. Nothing fancy and that's how I like it if I'm staying downtown. If I want more excitement, I stay on the Strip. The... more

I have stayed at the El Cortez a few time now and I have to first state it ain't swanky. Now I have to state join the Players club its the best bang and best comps you will ever get from a downtown casino. The first time I stayed I couldn't find a room anywhere downtown and normally stay at... more

The El Cortez is the best value play downtown. Just close enough to Fremont St. to be accessible; just far enough away for some peace. Rooms are large, clean though a bit dated. So what, I'm just sleeping there. Casino not quite rockin' but good, relaxed place to play. Bartenders great. Waitresses okay. Decent sports book for downtown. Food was... more
