We adore this Parador! Our second stay in June 2008 did not disappoint and we are already planning a third stay. The hotel staff are very helpful and attentive. The rooms overlooking the pool and garden are large, clean with excellent bedding. Especially appreciated is the foyer which allows a person to move about without waking those still sleeping. The... more

The Parador in Mérida, a former convent, could not have been a more relaxing and comfortable experience (with one exception--more on that later). During our trip to Spain we stayed in 5 Paradores, and while each was unique in its own way, they all were consistently well-maintained. Mérida was no exception. Similar to a previous reviewer, our room (212) had... more

My wife, daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed both the hotel and the city of Merida. The hotel is conveniently situated in a quiet square just a few minutes walk to the main shopping and eating streets and the Plaza de Espana the main hub of the city. We found the welcome warm and friendly (which... more

The room we got was very big, and so was the bathroom. The hotel has a very good location in the center of town and one can just walk to the Roman ruins and the Roman Museum (the best in Spain). There is adequate parking underground and in the garden. The hotel is very quiet and one can rest very... more

One night stopover. Room clean and spacious and, despite the fact that there was a full scale Spanish wedding reception in process, it was quiet at night. Staff adequate rather than good. Dinner and Breakfast as staff. I particularly liked the bat that flew down the corridor - seemed to fit with a 16th century monastery! more

We liked this hotel, the building is old and atmospheric but it has all facilities and the breakfasts were lavish. There is wi-fi in the rooms for a modest price (2 euros for 4 hours, cheaper per hour on a 24-hour basis). We had a strange experience: upon arrival they reduced the price sharply and threw in breakfast (not included... more

Staying in Parador of Merida is an experience and a touristic attraction by itself: the historic building and the decoration make you feel part of the history of such an interesting place as Merida. No major complaints about the hotel, but it is very pricy considering the quality of some of its rooms (which are good quality, but could be... more

This was our first stop after leaving Madrid and we enjoyed both the Parador and the town. Clean rooms, attentive staff. Parking was good, underground.....price was right...we got the Golden rate. Excellent "fare una passegiata" in a beautiful town with good restaurant choices. One of the best museums weve ever seen...anywhere. Museo Nacional de arte Romano. Remaining Paradors we saw... more

As with most other Spanish paradors, the rooms and common spaces of the Parador de Merida are rustic and charming. This Parador had more of a lodge-like feeling, with lots of dark wood and some vaulted ceilings. The bar is small and feels a little neglected. Merida is a terrific town with amazing Roman ruins and an active nightlife and... more

Even though somewhat difficult to find if you are driving, this location has all the charm that the Paradors are noted for. All areas were spotless, our luggage was brought to the room and the staff was helpful. The pictures speak for themselves and we wish our visit had been for more than just 1-night. We would definitely stay here... more
