This hotel is in a great location in the middle of medieval Lucca. (We spent an afternoon in Pisa and went on to Lucca - much more quaint - to walk around, and spend the night.) It is a little hard to find the right gate to enter the old city, but once you do people will help you find... more

We have recently returned from a wonderful 4-night stay in Lucca and could not have chosen a better hotel than La Luna. We took my husband’s mother with us and we occupied rooms in the annex building. We were in a twin room (103) and Mum was in a single room (106), which for a single was pretty spacious. I... more

1. paper thin walls. Do not expect to get a good night sleep. 2. Don't bother driving up to the hotel. It's off a pedestrian only street. We drove for 45 minutes and just paid 15 E to park in their lot and then walk. 3. Their breakfast is too expensive...just stay in a B&B for a better deal. 4.... more

We stayed at Hotel La Luna for 1 night during a train/driving tour of Tuscany and Venice. The hotel itself was very nice--spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, close to the city center. We had a window overlooking the street, but it was quiet and breezy and we enjoyed looking out at the locals below. The major drawback was that it was... more

La Luna is very central - an easy walk from the station or the central bus stop. It is small and friendly and very quiet. We stayed in room 242 which is a huge room with a fascinating painted ceiling. Our family fo 4 fitted in with room to spare and the kids thought it was great. It has a... more

Fantastic location, smack dab in the middle of this amazing city. While the hotel is not "charming" by any means, with two kids (6 & 3) it was the perfect small hotel for anyone traveling with kids. Family suite was all set up for us. Friendliest front desk & breakfast staff you'll ever meet. Couple of notes. Our room(s) were... more

Hotel Lucca is smack in the center of Lucca, just steps from the main pedistrian only shopping street. From here, you can walk to all the sights, or better yet, save your feet some and rent a bike for about 12 euros a day. The hotel is very clean, comfortable beds, cool A/C. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I... more

We spent two nights at La Luna in September 2007. The room was clean and tidy; although perhaps a little ‘worn around the edges’. The check in was quick and easy and we were able to go straight to our room (it was around 1-00pm). We opted not to have breakfast as 11 Euro per person seemed a little steep... more

This is a nice little hotel, well located with spacious rooms. Ours was huge and up two flights of stairs. With windows open there's quite a bit of street noise, though no noise from cars. We were a bit disappointed in Lucca which lacks the beauty and charm of the hill towns, but has more the feel of a real... more

This was actually the third time i've stayed in this hotel. When researching hotels in lucca, there are very few inside the walls - and of those, it seems like there are a few in the 100-120 euro range and a couple in the 180-250euro range... so, of the lower range, this hotel is absolutely my choice. The rooms have... more
