I highly recommend a visit to this museum. There is a wealth of informational exhibits and videos including a fascinating video actually taken during atomic testing many years ago. The museum is well laid out so it is easy to find your way through all of the different sections. They do provide a museum map. You should plan to spend... more

This museum is very impressive. We could have stayed here most of a day because there is so much to see. We did have other obligations so we only stayed about two hours and hardly scratched the surface. You can tell an awful lot of planning, preparation, and time went into making this museum. This is one of the best... more

This is one of the few truly interesting educational attractions in Vegas. It brings back a lot of memories for those of us who grew up in the age of "fallout shelters", and sheds light on the testing programs which were carried out in Nevada. It also opens up the eyes of the younger generation today to the extent of... more

A nice cultural diversion from the strip. Admission was a bit pricey ($12 per person), but there's some fascinating stuff here. Interesting movies and exhibits. I would plan to stay for at least a couple of hours. Agree with other reviewers that the negative impact of testing was a bit glossed over. Overall, a good excuse to get off the... more

Well worth a visit - I started walking down Flamingo and checked with a bus driver that I was headed in the right direction and he advised me to get the bus - and I would advise you to do the same especially if it's a hot day. When you get there the tour is very interesting, though they ask... more

The Atomic Testing Museum presents the history of the Nevada Test Site, where nuclear weapons research and testing took place for about 50 years. The museum covers everything from the big picture of the world political climate during this period, to how Nevada itself received and was impacted by the site and its activities. The museum collection consists of printed... more

Even our two kids, ages 10 and 12, found this little museum a worthwhile stop. It is only a five minute drive East of the Strip on Flamingo Road, near the University. A volunteer, a former Los Alamos scientist, was on hand to lend the personal touch, that can make a museum visit more memorable. This was a part of... more

Located about a mile off the strip ( an easy walk down flamingo off LVB), the atomic testing museum is a great way to spend an afternoon - away from the glitz & casinos. It is an excellent historical review of the history of the atomic testing program and it's contributions to Vegas & the United States. The photos, interactive... more

Much better than expected and very well done. Good way to kill a couple hours off strip and learn something about Vegas, science and history in the process. Well worth the admission price. more

This was an awesome and educational experience other than the normal shopping/gambling/drinking/dining in Las Vegas. Highlight of our trip! It's a self-guided museum that goes through a time-line of the atomic age of the US, and Nevada's role in the testing of these dangerous devices. There are two different "theaters" that have 10+ minute movies to watch and many touch-screen... more
