Oh dear what a pain this journey was! We started at the MGM Grand and travelleed to the stratosphere at the far end of the strip. This part of the journey went well but when we got off there were no signs and we ended up walking round a very dodgy district full of 'massage parlours'. After visiting the stratosphere we... more

We bought our monorail passes before we got to Vegas and saved a few $s this way. I would suggest checking out prices on their website before you get there. Although you can purchase them easily enough once there, it was nice just to have the passes in advance. We took the city bus one day and this was not... more

It's a useful quick way to get around, although not cheap. A day pass (24 hours for 12 dollars) is a good deal if you make good use of it. Generally the waits for a train are 5-7 minutes. Unfortunately it can be quite a bit of a walk from the destination to the monorail, but the casinos have put... more

It is nice that Vegas had the monorail to offer some convienence to the long walks and very hot days that they experience. It cost us $12 each for a day long pass. Made it easy to go from MGM to to the other end, but beware, as past Harrah's, it goes all the way out to the Convention Center.... more

The monorail should be a major consideration in choosing your hotel. The monorail goes through or near every major hotel on the strip. It saved our legs and feet more than once. Las Vegas is a LOT of walking, if you are not gamblers as we are not, and you're basically there to site see, the monorail is a must.... more

The Monorail is an excellent mode of transportation although limited. If it covered routes to the airport as well as mall outlets at the north and south end of the strip past the casinos, cabs, shuttles and buses would be in BIG trouble. Yes some of the locations to access the monorail caused us to walk - I definitely need... more

I don't get all the negative reviews. Honestly the Las Vegas Monorail is pretty useful. Here's why. First off I stayed at the MGM Grand, which is the last stop on the Monorail. It is literally a five minute walk from my room. Some complain it's a far walk. They must be old or something, because it ain't that bad.... more

The monorail is great!!!, its only downfall is the long walks through hotel casinos to get to / from it. we were staying uptown near the Mandalay bay, the nearest stop (first on the line ) was at the MGM. The problem was it is at the rear of the MGM and if you follow the signs which take you... more

We used the monorail system nearly everyday when we were in Vegas last week and found it very pleasant and easy to use. We always got the 24 hour pass for $9 which is good as you can jump on and on whenever you want. We also found them very reliable it said that they come every 6 minutes but... more

It is only good if you are going to Off-Strip hotels like the Hilton, but if you are staying on the Strip, take the Deuce instead. The monorail is more expensive ($9 24-hour pass as opposed to $5 for the Deuce double decker bus), and it involves a lot more walking because the route is at the back of the... more
