In 2008, Las Vegas's Natural History Museum may not look like much on the outside (a one-story windowless concrete block from the parking lot), but inside is quite large with a ground floor and basement. I thought this museum was a little lame. The animals are stuffed and look fake. The feeding of the live sharks and rays was nice. If you are looking for a museum to take the kids, go to the children's museum instead. more

This was a nice smaller sized natural history museum. I would visit again. I went with 1 adult and 2 children. The gift shop has reasonably priced merchandise. The displays were nice & informative. There was a traveling CSI exhibit that was well done. Several rooms show things like "ocean life" or "LasVegas desert animals of the past and today".... more

Must visit this museum every time vacationing in Las Vegas. It is wonderful for little ones up to age 12. It's not very large so it feels quite safe to have the little ones run ahead of you. there are a lot of plastic, painted animals. Children can not be fooled. Living near NYC where we have the natural history museum here, this one in las vegas was a big disappointment. Nothing was real. If you go to Nevade State Museum & Historical Society, you will see some animals and other natural history items. more

My husband loves Las Vegas, but traveling with our preschooler made hanging out in the casinos difficult. I took the car and we drove to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. WOW!! You've got to see the dinosaur exhibit. Some of the dinosaurs are mechanical and they make sounds, too. Kids can dig for dino-bones down the hall. Great way... more
